The Estimation of Acidic Behavior of Wood by Treatment with Aqueous Na2HPO4 Solution
نویسندگان
چکیده
As a new approach, the acidity that wood exhibits under moderate conditions is assayed by stimulated dissociation of weak wood acids in lightly basic secondary phosphate solutions. To assure a sufficient dissociation of hardly soluble weak acids in the solution, the amount of wood suspended in Na(2)HPO(4) solutions should be small but vary depending on the degree of acidity of wood species. However, the difficulties are associated with the titration of very dilute acids limiting the precision of the measurement. If the disintegrated wood is suspended in a secondary phosphate solution, the weak woods acids form the conjugate acid Na(2)HPO(4) from secondary phosphate Na(2)HPO(4) resulting in a pH fall of the solution. The decrease in the pH value in phosphate solution, which depends on the wood acidity, can be evaluated to estimate the acidity arising from wood under moderate conditions.

Removal of methylene blue dye by application of polyaniline nano composite from aqueous solutions
This paper deals with application of polyaniline coated on wood sawdust for removal ofmethylene blue (MB) dye from aqueous solutions. Polyaniline coated onto sawdust (termedas PAn/SD) was prepared via direct chemical polymerization onto sawdust which waspreviously soaked in the monomer (aniline) solution in acidic (HC1) media. Adsorptionexperiments were carried out using batch system. The effec...
متن کاملAdsorption of Remazol Black B Dye from Aqueous Solution Using Bagasse
The dye of wastewater is a major environmental problem. Chemical and biological treatment of wastewaters containing dye is difficult due to the low level of adsorption and chemical stability of dyes. Activated carbon is usually used for adsorption of these materials, but because of high prices and restore problems, researchers trying to find available, low-cost materials with high adsorption. I...
متن کاملAdsorption of Methylene Blue from Aqueous Solutions by Silk Cocoon
This study concerns the performance of cocoons spun by silk worms as a natural adsorbent for removal of Methylene Blue (MB) from aqueous solutions. To study the adsorption process, the effect of various parameters such as contact time, adsorbent dosage, dye initial concentration, and pH of the solution were investigated. According to the experiments, the kinetic data were best described by ...
متن کاملBiosorption of simulated aqueous solution containing acidic dyes by Azolla filliculoides
Biosorption of acidic dyes using the live fern Azolla filliculoides was studied in a discontinuous system. Dye parameters, dye initial concentration and contact time were studied in temperature range of 25-30 ?C and pH=7. It was shown that increasing the 23initial concentration of dye and its contact time resulted in decreasing the dye taking quantity by the absorbent. Also, type of dye has an ...
متن کاملESTIMATION OF POTENTIAL AND EFFECTIVE BR?NSTED ACID SITE CONCENTRATIONS IN ACIDIC MORDENITES BY CONDUCTOMETRIC TITRATION METHOD
Quantitative determination of Br?nsted acid sites in acidic mordenite samples with varying proton concentrations has been studied using aqueous conductometric titration method. Conductometric titration of the ammonium form of mordenite with sodium hydroxide is feasible and the results indicate potential number of Br?nsted acid sites. However, Br?nsted acid sites concentration in acidic mordenit...
